Job Responsibilities
- Edit and polish news stories, articles, video scripts, and new media products produced by Chinese journalists and editors
- Work with Chinese editors and reporters in covering major events, producing short videos, infographics, etc.
- Write commentaries
- Monitor the content quality of our website (CRIonline’s Panda Shorts website) and social media platforms, and make recommendations on improvements
- Assist in providing professional guidance and training to Chinese journalists and editors
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Native English speaker
- For applicants holding a bachelor’s degree, a minimum two years of work experience in news reporting and/or editing is a must; applicants holding a master’s degree or above are exempt from the requirement if they have an educational background in journalism, political science, international relations, China studies, English language or relevant majors
- Excellent verbal communication and writing skills
- Command of Chinese language and/or being able to translate from Chinese is strongly preferred
- Video reporting and editing skills a plus
-familiar with various social media content production skills, such as wiritten posts/video&audio content/images, graphics and memes and so on
- Keen interest in and solid knowledge of China
- Responsible and committed team player
- Willing to work overtime and to deadlines
