Its predecessor firm, American Steel Foundries, was founded over 100 years ago in Chicago, United States with the consolidation of 8 US steel companies, the oldest of which began operating as early as 1882. In 1962, American Steel Foundries changed its name to Amsted Industries. Today, Amsted Industries has operations in 47 facilities in 11 countries across North America, South America, Europe, Africa and Asia.
