紅磚美術(shù)館地處北京市朝陽(yáng)區(qū)東北部一號(hào)地國(guó)際藝術(shù)區(qū)，園區(qū)占地面積約二萬(wàn)平方米，展館面積近一萬(wàn)平方米，由收藏家閆士杰和曹梅夫婦創(chuàng)立，于2012年年底開(kāi)館試運(yùn)營(yíng)。美術(shù)館建筑及園林設(shè)計(jì)統(tǒng)一由北京大學(xué)建筑研究中心教授董豫贛擔(dān)綱，采用紅色磚塊作為基本建筑元素，努力在建造砌筑過(guò)程中不切割、盡量保證每一塊磚體的完整性從而構(gòu)成了獨(dú)特的建筑語(yǔ)言，打造出一座于生長(zhǎng)于喧囂之外、懷擁自然的園林式當(dāng)代美術(shù)館。紅磚美術(shù)館主體建筑分為地上兩層及局部地下一層，其中包括9個(gè)展覽空間、2個(gè)公共休閑空間、1個(gè)藝術(shù)衍生品空間。作為紅磚美術(shù)館與其他美術(shù)館在建筑構(gòu)成上的最大不同——一座采用中國(guó)傳統(tǒng)園林意象精心打造的現(xiàn)代園林，構(gòu)成了參觀體驗(yàn)和建筑結(jié)構(gòu)上的雙重延伸，而美術(shù)館的學(xué)術(shù)報(bào)告廳、餐廳、咖啡廳和會(huì)員俱樂(lè)部等配套設(shè)施也正散落于此。未來(lái)，紅磚美術(shù)館將通過(guò)有序且高質(zhì)量的系列展覽，結(jié)合收藏、研究、教育、出版和公共活動(dòng)，推動(dòng)中國(guó)當(dāng)代藝術(shù)的發(fā)展、參與國(guó)際當(dāng)代藝術(shù)家（項(xiàng)目）交流，展開(kāi)學(xué)術(shù)領(lǐng)域突出問(wèn)題和現(xiàn)象研究，為中國(guó)當(dāng)代民營(yíng)美術(shù)館的運(yùn)營(yíng)及發(fā)展模式，提供可行性參考。Red Brick Art Museum is located in No.1 International Art District in the northeast of Beijing. As the landmark of this region, the facilities of Red Brick cover a total area of 20,000 square meters, with nearly 10,000 square meters exhibition space. Red Brick Art Museum was founded by the couple YAN Shijie and CAO Mei. It will officially open on May 23rd, 2014. The architectural design of the museum was conducted in person by Professor DONG Yugan of Architecture Research Center of Peking University. Employing red bricks as the basic architectural element, Professor Dong maintained the integrity of each brick, created a suburban-based, garden-owning contemporary art museum.In the future, through a series of orderly and high-quality exhibitions along with collections, research, education, publications and public activities, Red Brick Art Museum will dedicate to boost the development of Chinese contemporary art, to participate in the international contemporary artists’ programs communication, and to carry out research about distinctive problems and phenomenon in academic field, offering a feasible reference for the operation and development mode for private museums of Chineses Contemporary Art.
