Job Overview
Shanghai Technical Support Office (STSO) provides a world-wide, plan approval and pre-contract technical service to shipbuilders, ship owners and design companies.
The purpose of this role is to appraisal stability, load line, EEDI/EEXI and tonnage design aspects in accordance with the applicable international standards, using procedures, experience and knowledge appropriate for the design appraisal of plans for the above-mentioned aspects for new building/conversion/existing vessels. And to provide technical support to designers and operators of ships and other marine platforms.
Job Responsibilities
1. To carry out intact stability, damage stability, EEDI/EEXI, tonnage calculations in connection with approval of new construction, existing in services and conversions. Further to assist clients in the design and construction phase and to deal with loading computer and ballast water treatment issues.
2. To build and maintain a good relationship with our clients and internal stakeholders;
3. Provide technical advice to internal and external clients.
4. To discuss and present the deliverable with the internal / external client and be able to suggest solutions where appropriate.
Job Requirements
1. Bachelor or Master degree in Ship Design/Shipbuilding or equivalent and Chartered/Professional qualification and a member of a relevant professional institution;
2. 3-5 years of experience with intact and damage stability calculations from Yard, class, ship owner, consultant etc.
3. Proficiency in NAPA commensurate with the work.
4. Necessary experience/knowledge in the area of marine engineering with particular emphasis on stability/tonnage/loadline.
5. Have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, to prioritise work and meet LR and Clients’ deadlines, and to work effectively under pressure.
6. Proficiency in the English Language commensurate with the work and to demonstrate effective interpersonal skills
