Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and innovative teacher to lead our STEAM and robotics programs, with a focus on engineering and technology. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in these fields and a commitment to fostering a dynamic learning environment. This role includes managing our current FRC program and potentially extending our program to other STEAM-related competitions and programs.
Key Responsibilities:
? Develop and deliver engaging STEAM and robotics curriculum for middle school students.
? Lead and manage the existing FRC program while exploring potential extensions to our robotics offerings and other STEAM-related programs and competitions.
? Foster a collaborative and creative classroom environment.
? Organize and oversee robotics competitions and events.
? Collaborate with other faculty to integrate technology and engineering concepts across subjects.
? Mentor and support students in their individual and team projects.
? Stay current with industry trends and advancements in technology and robotics.
? Continuously improve pedagogical practices by engaging in professional development and reflective teaching, seeking feedback from peers, and implementing innovative instructional strategies.
Requirements:
? Bachelor's degree in Education, Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field.
? Teaching certification or equivalent experience in a middle school setting.
? Proven experience in robotics programs (preferably FRC) and engineering principles.
? Strong knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, C++, Java) and robotics platforms.
? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
? Ability to inspire and engage students in STEAM subjects.
? Experience with project-based learning and hands-on activities.
? Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
? Commitment to professional development and continuous learning in the field of robotics and technology.
Preferred Qualifications:
? Master’s degree in a relevant field.
? Experience in curriculum development and instructional design.
? Previous experience in a leadership role within educational settings.
? Familiarity with educational technology and software tools.
